Squeeze — Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

The short version

Squeeze itself collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no analytics, and the game plays fully offline. From version 1.06, the free version shows an occasional ad between matches through Google AdMob, which receives limited device data to deliver those ads. You can remove ads with a one-time purchase, and everyone who installed Squeeze before version 1.06 never sees ads at all.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

When ads are on, the Google Mobile Ads SDK runs inside the app. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may receive your IP address (which indicates your approximate location), device identifiers, information about the ads you see and tap, and app diagnostics such as crash and performance data. Squeeze requests non-personalized ads only: ads are not based on your interests or your activity in other apps, Squeeze never asks for permission to track you, and ads are limited to content suitable for all ages. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent tool asks for your choice first; you can change it at any time in Squeeze under Settings ▸ Privacy choices. Google processes this data under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If you are ad-free (you bought Remove Ads, or installed before version 1.06), the ad SDK is never contacted and no ad data leaves your device.

Purchases

The Remove Ads purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Squeeze never sees your payment details; it only learns from Apple whether you own the purchase.

Location (“Near You” mode)

If you choose the optional Near You mode, Squeeze asks for while-using location permission so it can pick trivia questions about places around you. Your coordinates are compared against a places database that ships inside the app, on your device. Your location is used only in the app's working memory, and only in that mode: it is never saved to your device, never transmitted, and never shared with anyone — including us and Google. Declining or revoking permission simply switches the app to Surprise mode.

Player photos

If you add a photo to your hero, you choose it with Apple’s photo picker. The photo is stored only on your device, is never uploaded or shared, and can be removed at any time.

Data stored on your device

Squeeze keeps a small amount of data locally on your iPhone so the game works: match-in-progress state, which questions you've already seen, your chosen hero avatars and photos, your language, settings like the announcer toggle, whether you are ad-free, and a count of matches played that spaces out ads. This data stays on your device, is not backed up by us anywhere, and is removed entirely when you delete the app.

Third parties

Squeeze includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google’s consent tool (from version 1.06, and only active for players who see ads). Background photos are Creative Commons and public-domain images from Wikimedia Commons, credited on the Photo credits page; they ship inside the app and are never downloaded.

Children

Squeeze is a family game suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children. Ads are non-personalized and restricted to content suitable for all ages, and Squeeze does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
